SMILING Chloe Challoner today said a huge ‘thank you’ to supporters who have raised enough cash for her to go to America for treatment. 

The 10-year-old, who is fighting cancer, will travel to Texas after well-wishers moved by her plight came up with £10,000 in a matter of weeks. 

The cash came from a gala night at the Kings Theatre, Southsea, organised by pantomime star Tracy Shaw, and from donations from supporters including readers of The News who want to help Chloe. 

An emotional Chloe said: ‘What Tracy and everyone else has done for me means a lot. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone.’ 

Her proud dad Jamie Giblen, of Rooksbury Croft, Leigh Park, has around £9,000 in the bank for the Chloe Challoner Fund. 

And Segensworth-based firm PiMS Workspace said it would donate the remaining funds to hit the magic £10,000. 

The firm’s managing director Martin Atkinson said: ‘Chloe’s cause is something I noticed in The News. 

‘We like to make a difference to an individual and we hope to make the difference between not going and going to America for Chloe.’ 

Mr Giblen said: ‘I am not surprised with how quickly we have raised the money because of the determination we have had from the people that have helped us raise the money. 

‘In this day and age, and the way the economy is, for people to come forward is amazing.
